Shilpa Ananth is a Grammy-nominated vocalist, songwriter, and performing artist, born and based in the UAE.
Inspired by artists such as Erykah Badu, Nina Simone, Norah Jones, and classical Indian legends like Bombay Jayashri and Sudha Raghunathan, she seamlessly weaves Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and English into a genre-defying, cross-cultural musical experience.

A Berklee College of Music honors graduate, Ananth launched her professional journey with her acclaimed debut EP Indian Soul. She has since recorded and performed with Grammy-winning composers A.R. Rahman, Chandrika Tandon, and Javier Limón’s Original Quartet, and featured as a vocalist on Thana Alexa’s 2021 Grammy-nominated album ONA. Her career also includes opening for and performing alongside renowned Grammy-winning jazz artists Esperanza Spalding, Cory Henry, and the Afro-Jazz collective The Balimaya Project.

Ananth’s artistry has been recognized with multiple honors, including Best Independent Artist (Blue Rhymez Entertainment Awards, 2020) and the 2023 Platinum Award for Best Music Video (Independent Shorts Awards) for The Search. She is also a recipient of prestigious grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Women’s Fund, the Café Royal Cultural Foundation, and the Berklee Abu Dhabi Fellowship Fund.

Her dynamic performance career spans global tours with the Berklee Indian Ensemble, Women of the World, Bollywood Boulevard, and Serbian vocal group ROSA, with appearances at Boston Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Apollo Theater, The Kennedy Center, The Louvre Abu Dhabi, and The Piano Man Jazz Club in India.

After completing her UK + India tour in August 2023 and most recently touring EU playing stages in Berlin and Zurich along with her partner Beatbox Ray over Summer 2025, Ananth has continued to build a devoted fanbase through her emotive live performances, avant-garde visuals, and vibrant artistic persona. Her work has earned praise from Rolling Stone India, Vogue Magazine, and the BBC Radio 1Xtra. In September 2023, she released her second album REPRODUCTION, further cementing her global presence.

Most recently, her single AMPUTATE THE FAKE (released December 5, 2025) received wide acclaim, and she premiered the audio and accompanying music video release by performing at XP Music Futures in Riyadh.
